Plot

Shōyō Hinata, upon seeing the game of volleyball, aims to become the next "Little Giant" and, as such, joins his top volleyball club. After recruiting new members, they headed for the high school tournament, where they crossed the infamous school with "King of the Upper Court", Tobio Kageyama. Although his team lost, Shōyō is still determined to aim for a higher and more direct revenge on Kageyama. When he enters high school, he gets the biggest surprise; he and Kagyama are in the same volleyball category!

Junior high school student, Shōyō Hinata, is obsessed with volleyball after seeing captions at Karasuno High School playing at Nationals on TV.

In her own short stature, Hinata was inspired by the actor's nickname 'The Little Giant', a short but talented winger of Karasuno. Although inexperienced, Hinata loves sports and has an amazing vertical jump;

 He joins his school's volleyball club - only to discover that he is only a member of it, forcing him to spend the next two years trying to convince other students to help him get used to it.

In the third and final year of junior high, some of Hinata's friends agree to join the club so he can compete.

 In his first official game, they were badly beaten by a team that wanted to win the tournament - including third-year Tobio Kageyama, the actor who was nicknamed 'King of the Court' for his talent and brutal style of play.

The two started a short argument, and after the game, Hinata vowed to beat Mageyama in high school.

Hinata studied and was accepted at Karasuno, the same school as the "Little Giant" that was being played, but was shocked to learn that Kagyama had also opted to go to Karasuno.

Karasuno is said to have lost its reputation as a powerful school following the era of the Little Giant, often referred to as the 'Wingless Crows' by some local clubs.

However, by combining the articulation skills of Mageyama with Hinata's remarkable athleticism, these creators devised a new volleyball strategy and developed an unexpected but powerful partnership.

Along the way, Hinata and Kagayama push each other to reach their full potential and Hinata builds relationships with her first real team, thus embarking on Karasuno's redemptive journey to regain their reputation and make it to the National.
